The Answer to inexpensive, safe and easy to get heartworm preventive

I used to recommend Heartguard Plain chewable rather than Heartguard Plus as it only has ivermectin in it, rather than all the added poisonous insecticides that are not needed on a monthly basis.

Now, they are not making it anymore and I have been asked over and over again what should be given in place of this.

An industrious client of mine found the perfect substitute that is over the counter and very inexpensive and also effective!

For large breed dogs around $20.00 for a 6 pack. Much cheaper than Heartguard.

Heartworm is not that prevailent in many States but with all the genetically modified mosquitoes that have been released, I am more prone to be safe as the natural cures for it are not working as well as they used to.
