Miles of Smiles (his real name) starts off the New Year with his story

When Miles of Smiles came to us in about 2020, he’d already been through a lot for a 9-month-old kitten The family he loved so much and his puppy that he lived with and loved were

separated as they both had to be re-homed.

Miles then went through a number of shelters and foster homes.

When Miles was finally welcomed into our family, he immediately bonded with my 2 elderly dogs, who in turn, adored Miles.

Sadly, both dogs died that year and Miles went into a sort of angry depression like I’d never ever seen in a cat.

He attacked dear Millie, our female cat who- before- he’d loved and any other animal that came near our house.

I had to keep him confined for 3 months doing all sorts of therapies for him and teaching him to go out only on a leash as I was concerned for his safety.

Miles seemed to get better emotionally but he always seemed very angry, reactive and mean to poor Millie. Luckily, I found Spirit pup, a 6-month-old shepherd cross who Miles instantly bonded with. This was life changing and they play daily together, even now.

In about July of 2023, Miles was badly attacked outside. We think it was a dog as he had punctures in his head, ears and neck and seemed to be in deep shock. With my own holistic expertise and a local vet, Miles seemed to be recovering just fine, so I went on a short trip.

When I came home, Miles was near death. I rushed him to a local vet and immediately and called the wonderful Dr Deva Khalsa to consult.

The bloodwork was dire and looked like Miles was in extreme liver failure. The traditional vet along

with another vet said it was likely cancer and he did not have long to live. I knew in my gut that being anesthetized and having his liver jabbed, would kill my almost comatose kitty.

Dr Deva said a liver can repair with the right support and treatments!

Miles was semi-comatose but would swallow the organic ground lamb that I steadily pushed down his throat along with Chicken broth.

I was totally devastated and in shock that my dear 3-year-old cat was in this desperate condition!

I talked regularly to Dr Khalsa and she gave me instructions on what to do and encouraged me to

keep on,not give up and indeed, to know that Miles liver could improve!

I kept up with regular consults and recommendations from Dr Khalsa and after about 10 days, Miles of Smiles began to eat on his own and move about!!!

He’d lost 6 pounds and rapidly gained it all back and is playful, interactive and curious again.

Due to Miles (Miles of Smiles!) past history and reactive nature, Dr. Deva suggested we continue his treatment to clear his emotional residue of past perceived abuse as I had always wondered why he was so angry and reactive and was also concerned that there was a possible physical reason.

Miles liver (the organ of anger) had been deeply compromised after these events and he had increasingly emotional outbursts as he became stronger.

So we pursued homeopathic and other clearing techniques for a few more months to treat his ‘whole being’.

As of today,10/14/23, his interactive, energetic and engaging nature is returning in a big way! He’s playful, friendly, eating very well and is at a perfect, glossy , and powerful weight.

Yes, he’s a bit opinionated and snarky but that may just be his nature.

His latest and 3rd blood test was Thursday 10/12/23 and YES!!! It’s almost completely NORMAL!!!

Dr Deva said to break out the champagne and we will!!!

Dr Deva had said a liver can repair with the right support and treatments!

Well! She was obviously correct! I’m a great believer in the power of the body to heal just about everything with the right support.

However, without Dr Khalsa’s assurances, ,kindness and utter confidence in a positive outcome, we would have been up a creek without a paddle!

I have a healthy, vibrant miraculous cat and am over the moon with gratitude to Dr Deva Khalsa!!!
