Baxter is smiling!
It has been such a pleasure working with Dr. Khalsa to help our Shih Tzu, Baxter, improve and continue to beautifully recover from his glaucoma, dry eye, and kidney and thyroid issues.
When he struggled to open his eyes one morning in April 2024, we were afraid there was more going on and we might lose him. I took him to the veterinarian that day who told me a lot of bad news about his eyes, including that he may lose his right eye. They suggested I take him to a local animal ophthalmologist, and they had a much more positive outlook
for Baxter, but I wanted to do more.
I had been referring to Dr. Khalsa’s Natural Dog book for years, so in addition to taking our local animal ophthalmologist’s immediate advice for care, I then requested my first phone consultation with Dr. Khalsa to help ensure that we were doing everything we
could to help our Baxter.
Dr. Khalsa asked a lot of questions, and by the end of the call she offered a game plan. I came away from that first call with such hope.
Dr. Khalsa knew exactly what to do to start helping Baxter’s eyes, and we are eternally grateful to her for ordering lab work which showed kidney and thyroid issues that she has guided us through as well.
Her diet change recommendations worked
wonders, and along with a couple medications and a homeopathic remedy for his kidneys and thyroid, they are both functioning very well.
Now, seven months later, Baxter is a new guy!
His appetite and digestion are great, he’s back to his playful self, and has me running to keep up with him on our morning and evening walks—he is so happy! His vision and hearing are not what they used to be, but people cannot believe he is 16 years old because he moves around like a young pup.
I have requested a few follow-up phone consultations with Dr. Khalsa as we work to resolve the lack of tearing in Baxter’s right eye, and after each call I am more confident in caring for him.
We are so
thankful that Dr. Khalsa makes herself available for phone consultations because they have changed everything for the better.
We thank her for sharing her wealth of knowledge and down-to-earth advice, and for her desire to get to the root of problems.
Her devotion to helping animals is a blessing.
I am also grateful to her assistant, Maria, who is so responsive.
Thanks to Dr. Khalsa, Baxter is back to living his best life.
