I cannot thank Dr. Khalsa enough for all of her help and expertise with my sweet Layla. I will be forever grateful!
My little Layla has always been such a sweet and
playful pup. But last year her health took a drastic turn. She became a shell of the energetic playful pup she always was. It all started when I took her to her vet for a slight limp. Layla was diagnosed as suffering from a knee injury and prescribed Rimadyl. This seemed to only help a little.
But then..... she began to yelp at sporadic times whenever I tried to touch the left side of her face.
She didn't want to eat.
At this time, I decided to take Layla to another vet to get a second opinion and they observed mouth/jaw pain and also noticed swelling on her left side near her jaw. This vet performed blood tests (even specialized tests for any muscle disease/Masticatory Muscle Myositis) as well as a full mouth exam and found absolutely nothing and all blood tests came back negative. She was sent home on a pain reliever (Gabapentin) as well as a steroid (Prednisone). At this time,
this vet recommended and provided Layla with three vaccinations they told me she was due for (Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella). After this vet visit, the swelling seemed to go down initially but within days the swelling was back and the symptoms got worse…to the extent that her left eye now red and bulging and she had no energy whatsoever.
I took Layla back into the vet and they performed an ultrasound and found fluid sacs that they believed may be an
infection. Now prescribing even more medications (Enrofloxacin & Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid Chew) with still no real diagnosis on what was really happening.
This vet even went as far as recommending a CT Scan done and claiming that Layla may have a tumor/cancer.
None of these prescribed medications helped and my poor Layla continued to decline.
Now suffering from a fever, no energy, no appetite, significant weight loss and major facial swelling on this left side to the point of her red bulging eye
becoming completely swollen closed.
Layla was no longer her playful self and it continued to get progressively worse and then she stopped eating all together.
At this point, I was completely distraught and had no idea what to do as I continued to watch my poor Layla suffer and decline… utterly scared that I was going to lose her.
I couldn’t understand how bad the situation had become…and Layla was only
3 years old! It just broke my heart watching Layla like this and seeing her suffer day in and day out.
After over four months of stress and anxiety of trying to figure out what was going on, the constant back and forth with the vets and watching my sweet Layla deal with this pain, extremely low energy and was just simply just not herself. I had reached such a point of desperation and didn’t know what else I could do.
I was referred to Dr. Khalsa by a friend and reached out to her immediately to request her help and expertise.
Reaching out to Dr. Khalsa was the absolute
best thing we could have done.
Within our very first phone consult, Dr. Khalsa knew exactly what was going on from the very start. Layla’s condition was a result of a vaccine reaction [vaccinations she didn’t need] along with and on top of some other things that caused the situation in the first
place.
Dr. Khalsa prescribed Layla to start Doxycycline ASAP along with a very specific homeopathic remedy; exactly chosen for her problems.
Within 24 hours, Layla’s condition improved and within a couple of days she was 100% better and completely back to her energetic and playful self and she has been healthy ever since!
I will be forever grateful for Dr. Khalsa and all that she did to help my sweet
Layla!
