You may find it interesting to know that while allergies are an inappropriate response of the immune system to foods and environmental items, autoimmune disease is the immune systems inappropriate response to one's very own body.
The way I treat these kinds of problems is to reprogram - correctly- the immune system. The problem is simply corrected!
Conventional medicine suppresses the immune system. In Nico's case, they had reached the limit of immune
suppressing medications that he could tolerate and he still looked this way!
Here is what Christine [his Mom] wrote:
More than three years ago, my dog Nico's skin began changing. His muzzle and eyes became crusty, and he was getting hot spots all over his groin and paws. It would get so bad that he wouldn’t be able to walk. Most days, he would sleep all day because he had such little energy; it was obvious to me that the health challenges he was going through were making him depressed. I took him to a few
veterinarians until they sent him to a dermatologist for pets. They did a blood test and diagnosed him with pemphigus foliaceus explaining to me that he would need to be on immunosuppressants for the rest of his life.
It was shocking for everyone how he could go from having no issues to having an
autoimmune disease that would drastically change his quality of life.
He started taking the immunosuppressants and steroids needed to get his flare-ups under control, but I noticed they were not doing much for him. I contacted the vet because he was struggling so much, and unfortunately, they
would have me raise his steroid dose. His liver started showing adverse effects from these medications, and I began feeling more and more upset about this treatment plan.
Nothing about it seemed right.
I searched for a more naturopathic vet, but the options were limited in my area. I did find a vet who would perform acupuncture for Nico, and he did well with it. It seemed to help, but the improvements didn't last.
Everything felt hopeless.
One day, I was discussing my dog's situation with a friend, and they shared information about a wonderful person who does animal
communication for their horses. I called her the next day and explained what was happening. She then shared Dr. Khalsa's information with me and told me this vet works magic! I was hopeful but with a side of skepticism because it had been 3 years, and everyone was stumped with his condition.
I
set up a consultation, and after the first time talking with Dr. Khalsa, I knew it was going to be different. She began a detox process and her allergy elimination program shortly after. I started to see my little boy coming back and was able to take him off the immunosuppressants, but he was still needing the steroids. We checked in again, and that's when she discovered Nico's thyroid level was incredibly low and he needed thyroid medication. I ordered the medication immediately, and he was his
old self within a couple of weeks!
I am so unbelievably thankful for what Dr. Khalsa has done for Nico; the impact of his sickness was very heavy for the whole family.
I would have to agree with the woman who explained Dr. Deva Khalsa as being a vet who can work magic!
The animal community is lucky to have a person like her in their corner.
