He's a Newfoundland Dog
He was paralyzed. He couldn't get up and couldn't walk at all.
His Mom watched over him like
an angel and his every need was met.
Dawn contacted me for help and rented a car to bring Jazperlee over to me from Reading, PA. It was over a 2-hour drive.
The paralysis occurred after he was given the drug Ketamine in 2024. It was now July of 2025. And he had not walked
since.
Dawn, a dog groomer, took perfect care of him. You can imagine how much work that would be for a dog his size.
Not only was he paralyzed, his fur was falling out all over.
He did need to have his thyroid corrected. With that correction,
his coat came back beautifully.
VSEL Stem Cell Treatment? Did Jazperlee have a chance?
It was possible that the VSEL treatments might help him. These treatments have been given to
humans with all kinds of neurological diseases with truly
incredible successes.
Dawn got Jazperlee a cart so he could gain some strength in his front legs.
She was trying to find someplace for him to swim.
We wanted it all set up so
Jaz could get the most out of his VSEL treatment.
Dawn contacted me to ask if I knew how to do an on-line fund-raising project for Jaz.
This gal was definitely not wealthy as far as money goes.
But
she was wealthy as far as the amount of love and hope she held in her heart for her best friend!
And... Jazperlee..... Well.. he's an old soul. My face was smack up to his face when I took his blood. He was stuck in the back seat of a rental car- too heavy for us to get him out and into my office. No one was holding his head.
He looked at me trustingly, a kind and gentle soul.
I just plain fell in love with him.
Newfies: benevolent giants, have an instinctive drive to protect and rescue people in distress. I've heard
they are the only breed with an actual genetic instinct for this drive.
When I read her idea of starting a Go Fund Me, I knew it would take forever Importantly, the longer he was down and out the less likely he would ever get up and walk again.
SO........
I said, " It's my birthday weekend. For my birthday present I am going to give him a VSEL treatment at no charge whatsoever."
It took a bit for her to get down to me again. She had to move to another place and get settled in, get him set up, get a day off from work and get the rental car.
But she did, and on August 13th he struggled in his cart to get into my office.
Immediately after the treatment he was using his back legs, albeit in the cart, with confidence.
It's been 16 days since his VSEL treatment as I write this.
AND
After over a half of a year of not being able to get up or walk.
Well, look at the videos below.

I don’t think people should give up on their babies, even when it seems like they don’t want to go on. They- the pets- just hit a roadblock and they go through a deep, dark depression because they don’t understand why things happen to them and why things aren’t working. It’s up to us, as pet parents, to figure out what can help and not give up and to keep fighting for them because in the end they don’t give up and they will start
fighting again. I’m grateful for everything that you’ve done.
Jasper is very grateful and we’re still not going to give up.
Paws crossed, he will see 12-years in November and then another year at Newfoundland Day at PLOW Farms and hopefully, after that, another three years.
When Jasper hit down and out, and couldn’t walk, I thought that was it.
Now, I’ll never give up on him. He’s my life and I’m glad he started to fight again. I’m trying to do a fundraiser right now for him so we can do another treatment, but we truly are very grateful for everything you’ve done for him so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I feel without the treatment I don’t think he would’ve made the
progress he made. To see him get up and walk on his own! To feel the joy when I saw him get up on his own and take a few steps because this was the first time in almost a year since he got paralyzed.
